A philanthropic giving circle for young professionals gives back to our community through one combined charitable donation!

IMPACT Harrisonburg is a giving circle for young professionals in their twenties, thirties, and forties. The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County created this component fund to encourage philanthropy among young professionals with a focus on improving our community. Members make a charitable donation based on their age. Funds are pooled and granted to a nonprofit chosen by membership vote. Nonprofits are chosen from the two most recent sets of Community Needs applicants. Initiated in 2014, IMPACT Harrisonburg has made charitable donations of more than $22,000 to local nonprofits in need.

An important part of IMPACT’s mission is to foster and encourage a sense of community by holding educational and social events for the membership and the community at large. IMPACT holds monthly lunch meetings on the 3rd Wednesday at Beyond Restaurant downtown starting at noon.  Check out the IMPACT Facebook page for upcoming speakers.  You don’t have to be a member to attend these informative luncheons.

Membership in IMPACT Harrisonburg offers a way for individuals to maximize their charitable donations.

We understand that young professionals often have a crazy schedule with many competing priorities. IMPACT has a variety of committees with varying levels of commitment. There are no mandatory meetings, no attendance policy and no requirement to serve on a committee. By making a charitable donation to the IMPACT Fund, you can leverage your charitable dollars and make a bigger impact for a local nonprofit. Download a membership commitment form today.
