As a continuation of the exhibit last year “Old Houses Still Standing in Plains District, 1700-1800,” the new exhibit will feature “Selected Old Houses Still Standing in Plains District, 1800-1900.” There are about 25 houses in the exhibit selected from the many farm houses and those built in the towns of our area. Selections were based on the uniqueness and accessibility of their histories.
Displays include current and historical photographs, brief histories, artifacts if available, and locations.
Also featured are pieces from the Lois Rhodes Collection of 19th local pottery made by Strasburg and other local potters. The free exhibit will be on display through April, 2020.
