The Virginia Quilt Museum kicks off the 2016 Christopher Columbus Grandle Lecture series with an event on March 12, 2016. Kyra Hicks, an African American quilter, historian, and author, will present a lecture entitled, “The Roosevelt Postage Stamp Quilt: The Story of Estella Weaver Nukes’ Presidential Gift.” The lecture will take place at St. Stephen’s Church (358 S. Main Street) with a book signing and exhibit tour following at the Virginia Quilt Museum (301 S. Main Street).
