Community Foundation Announces 2019 Scholarship Recipients

The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg & Rockingham County is pleased to announce 2019 Scholarship Recipients. Over $206,000 was awarded from 23 scholarship funds to 62 students.

These scholarships are focused on a variety of criteria – one is targeted for math and science majors, one for a student planning to compete as a collegiate track and field athlete, one for students attending Emory & Henry College, and one for students studying Horticulture. There are others that require the pursuit of a major in science, business or engineering, or for a student planning to compete as an intercollegiate athlete. One scholarship seeks to award students pursuing the study of agriculture, several are focused on students with financial need, while another seeks to support Latino students at Blue Ridge Community College or James Madison University. Several scholarships are given in memory of unique and special individuals from our community who valued education and wanted to help young students in their pursuit of a college degree.

Rising high school seniors, or current college students at Blue Ridge Community College or Lord Fairfax Community College, should check out the College Scholarships page of the Community Foundation website. If you are a rising high school junior at Spotswood, East Rockingham, or Broadway high schools, visit Award for High School Juniors on the foundation website.

Applications for 2020 scholarships and awards will be available by November 1.
