We welcome applications from Harrisonburg and Rockingham County 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations providing services to address the needs of individuals and families. Individuals may not apply for grant funding, but are encouraged to contact United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County (https://uwhr.org/need-help) to fill out an intake form describing the specific need. PHASE 1 funding (Rounds 1 & 2) focused solely on nonprofits providing assistance with access to food and access to safe shelter.

PHASE 2 funding focused on nonprofits providing assistance with access to food, access to safe shelter, access to mental healthcare, and access to child care for essential workers.

PHASE 3 – Harrisonburg and Rockingham County 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations who meet the following criteria are welcome to apply:

  • Providing Access to Food
  • Providing Access to Safe Shelter
  • Providing Access to Mental Healthcare
  • Providing Access to Childcare for Essential Workers
  • Struggling to provide normal services, but facing a significant reduction in funding due to COVID-19

Operational expenses for eligible nonprofits may be considered. Nonprofit organizations may submit an application in multiple rounds. A nonprofit organization must submit a new application for each round of funding.
